Cookies Policy

Cookies Policy

The “Dimelli-Law.GR” website (hereinafter the “Website”) uses cookies to store information on your computer. This usage policy explains how the Website uses cookies. By navigating the Website you agree and accept the use of cookies on your computer, in accordance with the terms of this policy of use. If you do not wish to receive cookies from the Website, please either make the appropriate settings (as set out below) or refrain from using the Website.

What does the term “cookies” mean?

As “cookies” we define small text files with information that a website (specifically the web server – web server) stores on a user’s computer, without the possibility of knowing any document or file from the user’s computer. Cookies contain some information, such as the name of a website and some digits and numbers. Each time a user logs on to a website, the latter retrieves that information and offers the user related services. A typical example of such information is the user’s preferences on a website, as they are stated by the user’s choices on that website (i.e. selection of specific “buttons”, searches, ads, etc.).

Types of cookies used

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are used for the proper operation of certain functions of the Website. The Website uses technical cookies, the sole purpose of which is to transmit the communication or which are necessary for the provision of a specific service, a service that has been explicitly requested by the user or the subscriber (Article 4 par. 5 of Act 3471 /2006).

They are distinguished in browser cookies and session cookies, which ensure that the Website works properly:

  • Analysis cookies, which are technical cookies, when used in order to measure and analyze the total number of users and behavior on the site,
  • • Functionality cookies, which allow the website to be customized according to various user options (i.e. language), to provide improved services.

The information collection and processing through the use of technical cookies is essential for the Website’s proper functioning. In case that a user objects to the use of such technical cookies (Technical cookies) shall not be able to visit and see the Website properly.

In addition to technical cookies (Technical cookies), the general rule governing the use of electronic communications network is that access to information already stored in the subscriber terminal equipment requires the user’s prior consent taken only after clear and extensive information, i.e. this consent shall be given opt-in and not opt-out.

Therefore, cookies which are not “technical” and which are more important for the users’ privacy, i.e. those used to create a profile for the user, can be installed on the user’s terminal equipment provided that the user has been clearly and extensively informed and has given valid consent.

Third party cookies

While browsing the Website, third party cookies may be accepted in users’ web browsers.

Third party cookies are installed from a website different from the one the user is browsing. This is because each web page may contain elements (images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domain names), which are located on computer servers other than those that host the web page they are browsing.

How can I change the cookies settings in the browser?

Some users may not agree with the information storage collected by cookies on their computer. Each web browser provides clear instructions on the policy of use of cookies.

If you do not wish to receive cookies, you may modify your web browser settings to warn you when cookies are sent, to disable all or some of the cookies used by the Website or to delete cookies that have already been installed on your computer.

Most Website services operate without the use of cookies. However, if you disable cookies, you may not have access to certain services and Website features.
